Dr. Khan obtained his Ph.D. with Dr. Scott Small at Columbia and his MD at SUNY Downstate.  Working with both human and mouse fMRI datasets, Usman developed a powerful post-acquisition analytic toolbox that integrated programing skills, neuroanatomy knowledge, and functional imaging principles to ask probing and complex questions about disorders that affect the hippocampal circuit—including Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive aging, and schizophrenia.  He is the lead author in two Nature Neuroscience publications and is co-author in publications in Neuron and Journal of Neuroscience.
