Visiting medical students (both domestic and foreign) are welcome and encouraged to rotate through the UCSD Neurosurgery service. Students are accepted year-round for 2, 4, 6, and 8 week electives. Fourth-year medical student neurosurgical sub-internships are also available year-round, although prospective applicants are encouraged to schedule sub-internships for the summer or fall of the year of their application.
