Marissa A. Manuel, MSN, CNRN, NP-C

Marissa joins UCSD Neurosurgery from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, with 6 years of Neuroscience Critical Care experience.  Her career as a critical care nurse started at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois in 1999.   

In 2006, she was chosen to develop the Endovascular and Stroke Prevention Program for the Neurologic and Orthopedic Hospital of Chicago and the Chicago Institute of Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch.  During that time, she also assisted with the development and initial training of the Interventional Neuroradiology program at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois

She graduated with honorary distinction from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. In 2009, Marissa graduated from North Park University in Chicago with a Masters of Science in Nursing and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.

Marissa achieved her certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.  She is a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) and a member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses. She is also a member of the Phillipine Nurses Association of San Diego County.
