UCSD Neurosurgery hosts visiting medical students

Each summer, it is a pleasure to host a group of visiting students from medical schools  around the United States who come to receive exposure to neurosurgical practice at the University of California, San Diego. This year it has been a pleasure to welcome an outstanding group of students to our University.  Each student  rotates between the 4 major teaching hospitals in our program. This includes Rady Children's Hospital, the Hillcrest hospital, the Thornton Hospital campus, and the Veterans Administration hospital. During the rotation, Fridays are an academic day in which students participate in neurosurgical grand rounds and resident didactic sessions as well as Friday afternoon resident clinic.
In addition, residents perform a series of didactic teaching sessions with the faculty throughout the month-long rotation.  A central mission of UCSD Neurosurgery is to train the next generation of neurosurgical leaders throughout United States. Each summer, we look for to working with an outstanding new group of students who are preparing to enter neurosurgical residency the following year.
